The KBAC is a federally recognized nonprofit organization, founded by a collective of local artists and writers who have joined together to create a community workshop and educational center to further book design and its related arts: fine printmaking, papermaking, bookbinding, and creative writing. Our workshops, exhibitions, publications, and programs are funded in part by grants from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
