Non-toxic information from Henrik Bøegh

Wet lamination of photopolymer film
Some printmakers still have problems with the wet lamination. Therefore I have made a little film instruction here on my facebook page.

New and familiar drawing tools materials for acetate film and copper plates
During the August course in Spain we had a visit from my good friend MarnixEveraert, who is an excellent graphic designer and teacher of non-toxic intaglio at Academie vor bildende Kunst in Gent, Belgium. Marnix demonstrated some wonderful drawing tools, which can highly recommend:

Watercolour Pencil for drawing on acetate for photopolymer gravure - see:

http://www.stabilo.com/pages-com/products/all.php

Permanent marker for drawing and blocking out directly on the copper plates before or after application of aquatint – the red coloured are the best – you get them as pencils or crayons – see:

and

.

The best ultrafine permanent marker for fine lines that is completely resistant to UV-exposure and acid is called:

“Faber-Castell”: PITT artist pen (Indian ink)

New colours from Rostow&Jung – AKULA INTAGLIO INKS
In the spring I had the pleasure to visit Susan Rostow in New York. Here she presented me a set of new colours in AKUA's program that I absolutely had to try - it was some new black inks as an alternative to the Cold Carbon Black: A warm Bone Black, a quick-drying cold Mars Black, and some really wonderful colours: Paynes Gray, Graphite, Quinacridone Magenta and Oxide Green. Along with the colours Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold and Opaque White AKUA has now by now created a wonderful range of colours with the 30 different colours in the water based and environmentally friendly ink program. I have them all in stock and colour cards can be viewed on my website - see here
