Internships
Interns are a vital element of our staff and are one of the reasons we are able to help provide printmaking access and education to so many artists. Internships are open to any artist looking to learn while they work. Students, recent grads, and printmakers alike are all welcome to apply. Though responsibilities vary according to the goals each intern, the positions fall boardly into three areas:
Studio Assistant / Technician
RBPMW is a fully functioning co-operative printmaking workspace as well as a professional collaborative printmaking studio. RBPMW is always in need of printmakers looking to learn while they work.
Responsibilities: assisting Master Printers in the editioning contract/ published prints, as well as helping maintain the studio’s supplies, facilities, and equipment.
Skill Requirements: computer literacy (Mac and PC), ability to handle fine art prints, proficiency in one or more of the following processes: lithography, etching, relief.
Archive Assistant
The Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop was founded in 1948 by Robert Blackburn, one of the most prominent African American artist/ printmakers of the past century, for the purpose of providing access to professional level printmaking to any artist. His workshop produced thousands of works that are housed in the RBPMW Archive. These works are in desperate need of organization for educational and historical purposes. Archive Assistant Interns will help RBPMW prepare this collection for public viewing, both in person and on the web.
Responsibilities: cataloging, photographing, packing and conserving RBPMW print collection.
Skill Requirements: computer literacy (Mac and PC), ability to handle fine art prints. Digital photography/ web skills a plus.
Program Assistant
RBPMW is a busy workplace and demands a great deal of office and administrative support. If you are interested in learning how a not-for-profit art space functions from the inside, this opportunity will allow for hands-on education
Responsibilities: assisting with day-to-day office administration as well as print sales, marketing, education development, and special events.
Skill Requirements: computer literacy (Mac and PC), ability to handle fine art prints, office skills (filing, phones, data entry)
Internship Guidelines
All Internships are for a minimum of 3 days per week, require becoming a RBPMW member ($35 annual fee), and require at least a three-month commitment.
Academic credit arrangements for the internship must be made by the student. All paperwork for credit exchange is to be furnished at the beginning of the internship period.
All internships are unpaid.
All interns receive studio access outside of their internship hours.
Internship Deadlines
Internships align along spring, summer, and fall seasons. See below for dates and deadlines:
Summer Internship: June 1 - August 31 Deadline to Apply: March 30
Fall Internship: September 15 - December 15 Deadline to Apply: July 15
Spring Internship: February 15 - May 15 Deadline to Apply: January 15
Start and end dates are subject to change according to RBPMW and intern's schedules.

TRAHC’s 26th Annual Juried Exhibition is a juried exhibition celebrating local, regional, and national artists. The competition is hosted by the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council, an arts council located in Texarkana, Texas, and generously sponsored by E-Z Mart, Inc.
The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older in the disciplines of Computer Art, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Print-making, Photography, and Sculpture. Selected work will be exhibited at the Regional Arts Center from July 11 – August 9, 2014.
