2012 Print Exchange

Dear Artist:

Oregon Ink Spot invites you to participate in the 4th Annual (2010) International Print Exchange. This exchange is open to artists from the various states and abroad. In lieu of an entry fee Oregon Ink Spot will keep two prints from each edition submitted to the exchange.

All prints must conform to the following guidelines. Any prints that do not fit the guidelines will be returned to the artist at the artist’s expense.

• Deadline: Prints, SASE or envelope with postage fees, and completed/signed

submission form/image and/or print use clause agreement must be recieved

on or before Friday May 4th, 2012.

• Paper Size: 5”x 7” (12.7cm x 17.8cm)

• Theme: Open

• Medium: Intaglio, Relief, Lithography, Serigraphy, Collograph, Monotypes,

Monoprints and digital prints, any other type of printmaking not listed. Oregon

Ink Spot will not accept traditional photography, off-set reproductions or

reproductions of art originally produced in another medium.

• Editioning Requirements: Each edition must include 15 identical prints

signed and numbered 1 through 15

(example 1/15, 2/15,...15/15). Each edition must be original art and made for

this exchange. Please insert interleaf or glassine sheets for each print using

the foldover method. No newsprint, please. Multiple unique submissions are acceptable.

• Additional Requirements: Each print must be accompanied with the

following information: Artist’s name, title, and medium. This information may be

handwritten on the back of each print, printed on a separate 5” x 7” sheet to

accompany each print or pasted to the back of each print. Please take care to

use acid free adhesives. Please also take care to insure all handwritten

information is legable.

• SASE and Return Postage: US participants, please include a 6” x 9” (or

larger) preaddressed return envelope with adiquate return postage attached.

International participants, please include a 6” x 9” (or larger) preaddressed

return envelope and $5.00 US.

• RSVP your intention to participate by e-mail to: inkspot@eou.edu

• All prints submitted will be put in a web gallery and may be reproduced to

promote this project.

• The #1 prints from each addition will be housed in the EOU permanent

collection. The #2 suite will be used for exhibition and other opportunities at

the discression of the Ink Spot Committee.

• There will be an exhibition of prints at Eastern Oregon University’s Nightingale

Gallery December 2012.

A portfolio of 13 randomly selected prints will be mailed to each participant in the Spring/Summer 2012.

Great news - LarkGallery Online has an opportunity to sponsor two artists to attend a residency in Poland. Artists from different countries will join this two-week program to paint the beautiful and vast Polish landscape, still live and portraits, to exchange ideas and learn from each other the secrets of art.

This residency program will take place in Oswiecim near Cracow in southern Poland, August 1-13, 2012 and the right to participate in it will be awarded to two winners of our new competition "Polish Pallet.”

The organizers will provide accommodations, art materials and meals for participants. The artist will pay for the cost of traveling to and from residency. After the completion of the residency, a one-day art show will be held featuring artworks of “Polish Pallet” program participants. Two paintings of each artist created during the residency will become property of the organizers and be sold later to support future residencies. (Any other art created during the residency will remain the property of the artists.)

Submission Guidelines:
The organizers of “Polish Pallet”, who will choose the winners, are looking for painters who pursue realistic painting styles.

Who is Eligible:
The competition is open to all artists over 21 years old.

Media:
All media including, but not limited to, Acrylic/Oil, Mixed Media, Pastel, Colored Pencil, Graphics, Water Media or other layered media, No sculptures, video, craft or functional art.

Lower East Side Printshop provides emerging artists with FREE studio residencies to develop new work and foster their careers. The application deadline for the Keyholder Residency Program is Thursday, March 1, 2012 postmarked or delivered by 6pm for residencies starting on April 1, 2012.

The Keyholder Residency offers free, year-long, 24/7 access to a shared studio with professional printmaking facilities, basic supplies, storage space, $1,000 stipend, exhibition opportunities, career development workshops, and access to a vibrant community of peers. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply; printmaking skills are not required and limited instruction in printmaking is available at no cost.

Draw Color Line Exhibition

We are looking for MCA students working in mixed media for an exhibition during March 2012 at Germantown Performing Arts Centre. GPAC’s mission is to serve the community by presenting the highest quality artistic endeavors to engage, enrich, and transform.

Eligibility: Any student from Memphis College of Art

Medium: Works should be mixed media, no larger than 60”x72”

Deadline: Wednesday, Feb 1, 2012. All entries are due by 5PM

Guidelines: Entries should be submitted via email to drawcolorlineexhibition@gmail.com. Please include your name, the title of the piece, the medium, dimensions and price. Students may submit up to three pieces. All images must be in a jpeg format at 300dpi. All artwork must be ready to hang. The work can’t exceed 15 pounds including the frame. Paper work should be framed. If the artist decides to sell their work at the exhibition, a 20% commission will be retained by GPAC.

Selected works: Artists will be notified by email on February 6, 2012. The artists chosen are responsible for delivering their work to GPAC on March 2, 2012 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The exhibition will be open from March 5, 2012 to March 31, 2012.

Spudnik Press Cooperative is excited to host its first juried exhibition for MAPC members. Through hosting this exhibition, we strive to introduce Chicago printers, students, and artists utilizing Spudnik Press to national artists creating exceptional work in the field of printmedia.

CALL FOR ENTRIES
A contribution furnishes something towards a result. “Contributory” is a juried show dissecting the parts that create the whole, the chain of events that leads to a result, good works that build communities, and the symbiotic nature of a contribution. “Contributory” reflects on what and how people, the natural world, and technology proffer with intention and purposefulness, or despite themselves.

ELIGIBILITY
Print-based artwork only. No digital prints. All accepted artworks must be framed. Maximum framed size is 3′x4′.
Entries and fees must be received by February 6, 2012

JUROR
Julia Vodrey Hendrickson is a visual artist, writer, print-enthusiast, and curator. She recently released a poetry/artist book called Grow No Moss, printed at Spudnik Press. Primarily based in Chicago where she is the gallery manager at Corbett vs. Dempsey, she is currently pursuing an M.A. in Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.

Student International Small Print Show

Egypt Mar. 25 2012-2013

Faculty of fine arts -El Minia university is organizing the first annual student international print exhibition in Egypt. The exhibition will be a good opportunity for international artistic exposure and interaction among talented printmaking students from allover the world. The show will be opened in conjunction with the international art conference in El Minia university in late March 2012 .

Participation Terms 1-All currently enrolled art students including grad students in any art program around the world are welcome to apply.

2-All printmaking techniques including (digital, Monotype, Xerox,..) are acceptable.

3-Eatch artist may participate with two prints, the paper size of the print is limited to 8x12” or 20x30cm , image size is open .

4-Participating works will be on display for 12 months at the creativity center in El Minia university and at Art Zone center in Cairo .

5-Participating works will be featured in a dedicated website for the show for 12 months.

6-Interested artists should send two JPG photos, Size (4x6” or 10x15cm) Res. (100 dpi ). to participation@studentsprintshow.com by Feb.17 for initial screening. Photos should be labeled with (artist name- work title- image size- technique-year of production). Ex : (JohnSmith-Untitled-5x7”-Etching-2011)

Artists of accepted works will be notified by email by Feb.21.

7-Artworks should be shipped (postmarked) no later than Feb.27 . Artworks should be sent unframed and unmated in a steady flat foam board folder via registered or priority mail to:

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

1.Each artist should send no more than 3 works: original prints, created in 2011/2012. Entries may feature any type of method of printmaking and should be signed and numbered by the artist. The maximum dimensions of a work are 29 x 23 cm. (paper size). Please note: works exceeding the limited size will be neglected!

2. The application (entry) form should accompany the work, including the name and the nationality of the artist as well as the title, price, year and the technique used in the work.

3. The works should be sent to LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects as PRINTED MATTER by registered air-mail in a simple packet, unframed, without mount, bearing the declaration "No commercial value".
Please note: packages with declared amounts arrive directly in the customs so they shall be returned back from the customs for the costs of the sender.

4. Participation fee is 50 EUR for all European and 80 USD for all another countries and it covers catalogue production, organization of the exhibition, invitations, posters, advertise materials, print return and catalogue postage.
It has to be paid with the message “Lessedra Annual Exhibition”

CONDITIONS FOR ACCEPTANCE

Payment of the entry fee is not a guarantee for acceptance! The jury for previous selection is appointed to make the selection of artists & works with the intention to keep the high professional level of the Print Annual. If for any reasons artist is rejected we send back works and return entry fee reduced by the postage.

CATALOGUE

1. LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects will publish an exhibition catalogue including all accepted artists. Every participating artist is kindly requested to send a brief biography and a personal photograph on a CD or via E-mail for the web presentation of the project.

2. LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects reserves the right to photograph and reproduce works in the printed catalogue, in CDR, on the Internet gallery and also for advertising, commercial and publicity purposes.

JURY, PRIZES AND EXHIBITION

1. INTERNATIONAL JURY will be appointed to select the winning prints. One of the five international jury members represents LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects.

2. There will be the following PURCHASE PRIZES:
First Prize (USD 500 = purchase of works by additional agreement and invitation for a solo presentation of the artist in conjunction with the next annual exhibition).
Second Prize (USD 200 = purchase of 3 works).
Third Prize (USD 100 = purchase of 2 works).
5 Special Prizes, each one equal to USD 80 (purchase of 1 work) - a cheque covering the entry fee for participation in the next print annual.
Prize For Young Emerging Artist - USD 300 (in material support for print works) and invitation for a solo presentation of the artist in conjunction with the next annual exhibition.
The Jury has the right to grant more than one Second and Third prizes and also more than one Prize for Young Artist.

3. There is no commission payable to LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects on the sales of the works.

4. Exhibition with works of all accepted artists will be organized in Lessedra Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria in the timeJune 13th – August 31st 2012. Opening reception on June 13th at 7 p.m.

While the works will be handled with the utmost care, LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects will not be responsible for loss or damage due to natural disasters.

The works will be returned within five months from the closing date of the exhibition at the cost of LESSEDRA Gallery & Contemporary Art Projects.

Respirators

All students in printmaking need to have a proper respirator for dust particles or better jet the particles and fumes ASAP. Please pay for your respirator at the business office. You can get it and have it fitted to you at Jonathan Welden's office by appointment.

Without a respirator and the rest of your gear like apron, goggles and proper gloves you cannot work in printmaking.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years or older presently residing in the United States. Works executed between 2009 and 2012 are eligible.

Media and size: Original works in all traditional printmaking media including but not limited to intaglio, relief, screen print, lithograph, monotype are eligible. Digital and three-dimensional works are eligible but must incorporate at least one traditional hand-pulled process. Purely photographic images and photomechanical reproductions made of existing works will not be considered. Size of work cannot exceed 30� x 40� frame dimensions.

The theme for this year’s exchange is “Disguise”. Feel free to interpret how you like.

Requirements:
1. Any printmaking technique may be used (woodcuts, lithography, intaglio, photography, silkscreen, digital printmaking, etc.)

2. Create 13 duplicate postcards, each must be 4” x 6”

3. The 13 identical prints should be sent individually to the address posted below. Each card must be stamped and will bear the markings of travel and the postal service. (Do not send the cards together in one envelope.)

Our 2011 Artist in Residence was Carlos Frias

Program Description
The Printmaking Council of New Jersey (PCNJ) is a non-profit fine art center specializing in print and paper media. For the past 36 years, it has provided activities, exhibitions, events, and classes that support and nurture an appreciation for printmaking, photography, papermaking, and artist books. PCNJ offers an annual 6 week residency to professional artists who are interested in developing new and innovative work in printmaking and its related disciplines. PCNJ welcomes applicants with diverse perspectives, personal narrative and style. PCNJ does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or socioeconomic background. Applications must be post marked by March 1, 2012.

PCNJ's Artist-in-Residence (AiR) is supported by a grant from the Adolf Konrad Foundation. The Foundation, created in memory of the renowned artist, provides an opportunity to one artist each year to utilize the Council's Printmaking Studios. Adolf Konrad understood the many benefits a studio can provide for an artist who needs intense concentration to conceptualize, explore and create a new body of work. PCNJ is committed to helping arrange for the special needs of the artist, publicity for both the artist and the program, and to providing exposure for the artist's work.

Benefits for the Artist-in-Residence (AiR)

*Use of a professional studio and related equipment.
*A $1,000 stipend to support the residency and offset the cost of supplies.
*Uninterrupted time to explore new ideas and techniques.
*Interaction with a new community of artists.
*Publicity in local and regional media.
*An opportunity to exhibit work at the end of the residency period.

Residency Requirements

In 2012, PCNJ seeks applicants working in printmaking and its related disciplines, preferably in a non-toxic format.
The AiR MUST BE self-sufficient in a printmaking studio.
The AiR shall use the studio in a manner that demonstrates a strong commitment to the program.
He/she will spend at least 20 hours a week at PCNJ, which can include days, night, and weekends.
The residency will take place during a 6 week period from May 1 - June 20, 2012.
The AiR must provide his/her own housing and transportation to and from the studio.
The goal of the AiR should be to complete a new body of work. This could include print editions, artist books, papermaking, and installations, among others.
The new work will be exhibited in PCNJ's Library Gallery
The AiR is also responsible for offering a limited number of events at PCNJ, such as lectures, demonstrations, workshops and publicity functions.
The AiR will donate a small portion of the work completed during the residency to PCNJ.

Application Criteria
Prospective AiRs must forward a packet to PCNJ that includes:

Application Form
A professional C.V., resume, or bio.
One letter of reference from a professional source, such as a department Chair, academic colleague, former professor, curator, arts administrator, etc.
8-10 examples of work on CD. Each image must include the artist's name, date, medium, and size. PCNJ is looking for a strong body of work, which does not need to be limited to just printmaking.
A one-page Artist Statement.

Other Considerations
Matriculating students are not eligible to apply. Application materials will not be returned without including a stamped, self-addressed envelope. There is no entry fee.

Calendar:
Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2012.

Selected artist and one alternate will be notified by March 15, 2012.

Residency period will take place from May 1 through June 20, 2012.

Final exhibition will take place from October 16 - December 25, 2012.

Ochosi Editions is announcing its inaugural print suite exchange and invites participation from printmakers from around the globe.

Theme: Artists are to present images about the Madonna, the Virgin Guadalupe, Mother Mary, Marian subjects, motherhood, nurturing, etc.

Eligible Media: Collograph, Digital/photographic-based, Intaglio, Letter press, Lithography, Monoprint, Relief, Serigraphy, or any combination of these methods are accepted.

Paper Size: 8 x 11 inches (images may be any size, up to the edge of the total paper size) Please include glassine sheets (also 8 x 11 inches) between each image to assure no offset of images onto each other.

2011 has been another fantastic year for "Non-Toxic Intaglio" - the interest is constantly growing, especially I have noticed a new interest in Turkey, USA and Spain. My summer and autumn courses in my paradise in Spain was already completely full booked in spring last year. They were visited by professional printmakers from Germany, Turkey, USA, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Israel, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Finland and Norway. All participants expressed great enthusiasm, not only with the courses, the food and the village but also with the unique opportunity to exchange intercultural experiences across cultures and printmaking traditions. New colours from Rostow&Jung – AKULA INTAGLIO INKS
In the spring I had the pleasure to visit Susan Rostow in New York. Here she presented me a set of new colours in AKUA's program that I absolutely had to try - it was some new black inks as an alternative to the Cold Carbon Black: A warm Bone Black, a quick-drying cold Mars Black, and some really wonderful colours: Paynes Gray, Graphite, Quinacridone Magenta and Oxide Green. Along with the colours Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold and Opaque White AKUA has now by now created a wonderful range of colours with the 30 different colours in the water based and environmentally friendly ink program. I have them all in stock and colour cards can be viewed on my website - see here

The deadline to apply for Frogman's Graduate Student Scholarship is
December 15th, 2011. Below please find details:

GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

This year, Frogman's will again showcase the prints of one exceptional
graduate student in Gallery 110 of the Warren M. Lee Center for Fine
Arts on the campus of the University of South Dakota. In addition to
the solo exhibition, the selected graduate student will also have
their fees ($675.00) for one course waived for Frogman?s 2012 Print
Workshop.

This scholarship opportunity is open to any Master of Fine Arts
candidate studying printmaking at an American University. Applications
will be accepted from September 1, 2011 through December 15, 2011.
Applicants do not have to register for the workshop prior to applying
for the scholarship. The winner of the scholarship will be notified
January 25, 2012. Twelve to fifteen pieces will be needed for the
exhibition and all of the pieces must be prints. The winning graduate
student?s prints should be matted, plexed and shipped to Beresford,
South Dakota no later than May 1, 2012. Frogman?s will be responsible
for return shipping. The exhibition will run from Sunday, July 1,
2012, through Saturday, July 14, 2012.

Previous winners include Andrew Burkitt from the University of
Georgia, Tyler Ferreira from California State University at Long
Beach, Johanna Mueller from George Mason University, and Ericka Walker
from the University of Tennessee.

The 27th Annual Positive/Negative National Juried Art Exhibition – Call for Entries

Johnson City - The Positive/Negative is an annual juried exhibition of contemporary art organized by ETSU Slocumb Galleries under the Department of Art & Design. On its 27th year, the exhibition shall focus on the theme “Material Transformation.” Up to $1,500.00 in awards including Best of Show cash prize and possible solo exhibitions. Open to all media and US-based artists, 18 years and older. Deadline for submission of entries is December 19, 2011.

This year’s Juror is Dr. Gail Levin, art historian and biographer. She has taught twentieth-century art, American Studies and Women’s Studies at the Baruch College and Graduate School at City University of New York (CUNY). She was former curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art and has curated international exhibitions for the Museum of Modern Art and the Tate Gallery. Dr. Levin has written extensively about Edward Hopper, twentieth-century American art, women’s art, Judy Chicago and her most recent publication is a biography about Lee Krasner. Her essays have been published internationally, and she has written reviews for the New York Times, American Art Review, Asian Art News (Hong Kong), The Los Angeles Times, Art Research (Japan), Journal of Modern Jewish Studies (UK), Women’s Art Journal, BolaffiArte (Italy), Jong Holland (the Netherlands), Arte y Parte (Spain), Archives of American Art Journal, and the Smithsonian Magazine to name a few.

SGC International will host its 40th Anniversary Conference in New Orleans, LA on March 14 - 19, 2012. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the conference in any way, please reply toernest.milsted@selu.edu with the following information:

The theme for this year’s exchange is “Disguise”. Feel free to interpret how you like.

Requirements:

1. Any printmaking technique may be used (woodcuts, lithography, intaglio, photography, silkscreen, digital printmaking, etc.)

2. Create 13 duplicate postcards, each must be 4” x 6”

3. The 13 identical prints should be sent individually to the address posted below. Each card must be stamped and will bear the markings of travel and the postal service. (Do not send the cards together in one envelope.)

ABOUT EFA STUDIO PROGRAM

The EFA Studio Program was created to provide affordable studio space within a community of artists, facilitate career development, and promote public and critical exposure for our members. Members of the studio program are professional artists with a developed studio practice. Our members create work in wide range of media and artistic sensibilities creating a vibrant and diverse community of peers.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is available to artists through an application and selection process. Members have a private studio for a period of up to two years at below market cost.

LOCATION

All studios are located in the EFA building at 323 West 39th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in Midtown Manhattan.

DESCRIPTION AND COST

Studios range in size from 200 to 435 square feet. Ceilings are 11 feet high. Membership fees vary according to the size and shape of the studio assigned to the artist, the studio's location in the building, and the artist's demonstrated financial need. Access to studios is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ELIGIBILITY

Visual artists working in all forms of media are eligible. The program is designed for artists with a developed studio practice and career experience. Applicants cannot be in a college or university degree-granting program. Certain types of work cannot be accommodated for practical reasons, including large or heavy sculptures, some types of metal work, and work involving high noise levels or fire risk. Applications are judged solely on the quality of the work as presented. EFA does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation or marital status. Artists must be citizens of the United States, or must be legal U.S residents during their tenure.

All applications must be submitted by Friday, December 16, 2011. Applicants must use the online application system and follow all instructions.

Lower East Side Printshop offers artists the opportunity to complete a significant new body of work in printmaking in collaboration with our experienced Master Printers, fully published by the Printshop. Artists working in all disciplines are encouraged to apply; printmaking experience is not necessary. The application deadline for the Special Editions Residency Program is Friday, December 2, 2011 postmarked or delivered by 6pm.

Residencies take place for a period of three to six months, including production time, scheduled between February 2012 and February 2013. The Printshop will provide up to $4,000 honorarium, studio access, all materials and supplies, full technical assistance, project documentation, exhibition opportunities, and limited travel and accommodation stipends for artists residing outside of New York.

While these goals are interconnected, they are not exactly the same. Herron’s new graduate program offers a distinctive approach to gaining new skills, experience, and knowledge that prepares its students to engage and thrive at their highest professional capability in both arenas. Herron M.F.A. graduate students are active in the studio AND active in the world outside the studio.

Herron’s M.F.A. program seeks graduate students who are committed to an intense engagement with pragmatic professional strategies, theoretical ideas, the development of their craftsmanship to the highest professional standards, and who seek opportunities to explore how visual artists can thrive within the 21^st century. Nomination for Student Representative

Greetings!

The 2012-2014 Southern Graphics Council International Executive Board Nominations Committee is seeking recommendations and/or nominations for the Student Representative. This student representative shall be chosen from among the active student members in good standing. The Student Representative serves a 2-year term and must remain a student in good standing for the duration of the elected term. The term begins in the even year conference and ends at the next even year conference.

The Student Representative represents all student members and is responsible for the student page in Graphic Impressions three times annually. The Student Representative provides updated information to the Web Coordinator regarding the student section of the web site; helps facilitate activity on the Facebook page; and proposes additional student activities beyond the annual student panel to the executive board.

As this is a newly added addition to the Executive Board, this position will continue to grow and develop. We are looking for an energetic student that will work closely with the entire board to help field and present proposals that will represent the best interests of our growing student membership.

Jurors: Ink - Michelle Deziel

Clay - Carol Sauvion

Michelle Deziel is an Independent Contemporary Art Curator and Consultant. Deziel is currently organizing the first major West Coast retrospective of Los Angeles painter and printmaker Ynez Johnston at the Mingei

Museum in San Diego (2011). She is also working as a consultant on the Norton Simon Museum of Art’s

exhibition PROOF: The Rise of Printmaking in

Southern California (2011) and co-authoring the catalogue for the Torrance Art Museum’s 2012 show Between the Knowing. Deziel was formerly a curator at the Norton Simon Museum, where for ten years she managed the museum’s collection of 20th century art and organized numerous exhibitions, including works on paper exhibits by Goya, Picasso, Diebenkorn and Ruscha. She holds a B.A. degree in Art History and French from Cal State University, Long Beach. She also studied at the Université de Paris, Sorbonne and the Université d’Aix-Marseilles in France.

When asked by what criteria she would judge the “Ink” submissions, Deziel responded: “When asked to jury exhibitions, my approach is to carefully and critically examine each submission before making a selection. I am interested in works of art that have the power to engage aesthetically, conceptually and technically. Whether a drawing or a print, the artist’s technical

mastery must be evident-quality always stands out-as does originality and innovation.”

She is currently filming the second episode in CRAFT IN AMERICA’S third season.

In describing the criteria by which she would determine her selections, Sauvion relates: I look forward to jurying the ceramics for the Ink and Clay 2012 exhibition at Kellogg University Art Gallery. I consider it a unique opportunity to become familiar with the work of artists from a large geographic area. Whether produced in quantity or as one-of-a-kind, the ideal handmade work reflects excellence and the unique vision of its maker. It is well conceived and skillfully executed, with the concept and the technique in balance. Ultimately, the object is perceived as more than the sum of its

techniques and materials. These are the qualities I look for when jurying.

Please submit images on a CD that is formatted to be

readable on a MAC computer. Please be sure to write your name on the disk. CDs of accepted works will be retained for documentation.

The following applies to EACH digital image:

1. File size should not exceed 2 MB

2. Resolution at 300 DPI

3. Save image file as JPEG (Do NOT use

“Photo Library” files.)

4. Images should be named with the first initial and last name of the artist, and the number that corresponds to the number on the entry label. Example: JDoe#1. Detail images should be designated in the following manner: JDoe#1Adetail.

Insurance and Liability

All accepted works will be insured for the duration of the exhibition. Although due care will be taken in handling of entries, neither the Kellogg Gallery nor Cal Poly Pomona accepts responsibility for damage of work submitted to the exhibition which is improperly framed or packaged.

Exhibition Dates: Thursday, March 15

through Friday, April 27, 2012.Established in 1971, Ink & Clay is an annual competition of prints, drawings, ceramic ware and clay sculpture, sponsored by the W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The primary underwriting is through the generosity of Col. Jim Jones. Ink & Clay is an exhibition open to all of the Western States including: AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WY. A virtual catalog of the exhibition will be mounted on the gallery’s website. A PDF version of the catalog will be available for download. Each artist will receive a page featuring an image of their accepted work and an artist’s statement.

INK: printmaking and drawing – traditional

or experimental. (What constitutes a print

or a drawing remains open.)

CLAY: Ceramic ware or clay sculpture. (Again, the question as to what is legitimate remains open.) Other materials may be combined with clay.

Oversized and experimental works are encouraged

in both media, however, please call to discuss

exhibition possibilities, e.g. the laws of physics,

Awards

The Kellogg Art Gallery will provide $5000 for 10 cash awards. In addition, we are very pleased to offer a special purchase award this year, The James H. Jones Memorial Purchase Prize, generously sponsored by Mr. Bruce M. Jewett.

Sales

All work will be considered for sale unless

otherwise indicated as NFS on the entry form.

A 25% commission on all sales will be retained
